Is Aurails free?

Yes. Aurails is free on Google Play and local music playback is free forever. Radio, podcasts, audiobooks, the equalizer, downloads and online lyrics are free for a 4-day trial, then unlock with a single one-time Pro purchase, or by watching an occasional short ad. There is no subscription and no account.

Does Aurails work offline?

Yes. Aurails is offline-first. Your on-device music, imported audiobooks and downloaded podcast episodes play with no internet connection. The network is only used for live radio, podcast browsing, custom streams, downloads, optional metadata lookup and the optional live-weather scene.

What is the weather theme in Aurails?

Now Playing scenes are animated backgrounds behind the player. Auto mode follows your clock through sunrise, day, sunset and night. You can also pick rain, snow or breeze by hand. Optional Live weather (Pro) matches the scene to the real sky outside using approximate location and the MET Norway weather service.

Does Aurails support dark mode and light mode?

Yes. Aurails is dark-first and also has a full light theme. Choose Dark, Light or follow the system setting. On Android 12 and newer you can turn on Material You dynamic color so the app picks up colors from your wallpaper.

Can Aurails play internet radio and custom streams?

Yes. Aurails browses more than 50,000 live stations from the Radio Browser directory by popularity, genre, name or country, can find stations near you, and shows live now-playing info where stations provide it. You can also add your own Icecast, Shoutcast or other stream URLs.

Can Aurails play audiobooks and .m4b files?

Yes. Import a folder of chapter files or a single .m4b audiobook from your storage. Aurails shows the real chapter list, resumes where you left off, and supports bookmarks, variable playback speed and skip-silence.

Does Aurails need an account or track me?

No account or sign-in is needed. Your library, playlists, history and settings stay on your device. The Google Play build uses Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports and Google's ad SDK only when you choose to watch a rewarded ad. See the privacy policy for details.

Which Android versions does Aurails support?

Aurails runs on Android 10 and newer, including Android 16. It works with Android Auto, lock-screen and notification controls, Bluetooth and headset buttons, and has a home-screen widget.
